Converting .wma files to .flac on a Mac

What is the best program for converting .wma files to .flac on a Mac?

XLD and Max cannot do it...anything else out there suitable which will preserve the files and rip some good flacs?

Why convert from lossy to lossless?  The resulting files will be anything but lossless and take up more space.  I would re-rip that music if possible and not to WMA, MP3, or anything other than wave, then encode to FLAC. or rip "straight" to FLAC with some suitable program.  To rip music, you might be able to use EAC in an emulation program, otherwise, I don't know.

If I remember correctly, you have to go with ALAC on a Mac, no?  The difference is just that FLAC has slightly better compression.  Both are lossless.

He could mean wma lossless(hopefully)

I question WMAL.  =\

I don't trust it.

How can you question standard huffy encryption?  Do you have a link to anything that should make me question wma lossless?

I have read somewhere on Head-fi that checksum doesn't match on WMAL, compared to FLAC or ALAC, there being changes from the original data.

I looked into that it was a problem created by an old 3rd party software. WMAL has been confirmed to be lossless.

Good to know. After all, it is a lossless format, so any changes wouldn't be tolerated at all.

Still, I prefer FLAC rather than WMAL or ALAC.

Ok, none of the above answer my questiondarthsmile.gif

I have a few .wma files which I want to play using Fidelia or Decibel out of my iMac.

The above do not support .wma so I need to convert them to .flac or something else that is supported
