iPod Touch Has Iffy SQ. What To Do To Fix It? - Page 2

I don't know how different the 3G Touch is from the 4G Touch, (I have the 3G Touch 64GB) but my Touch squarely beat my firends 1G Touch, as well as my Cowon D2+ hands down. (all flat, all lossless, same headphones).  Maybe they changed the audio a bit when they added the camera to the 4th gen Touch, but my 3rd gen has very good SQ. And adding a TTJV Slim, LOD, and HD650's, and the sound is just wonderful. No disrespect intended here, as I haven't heard the 4th gen.

The 4G Touch is almost the same as the 3G Touch in SQ, better than the older Touches, I agree. Still the 6G nano, Ipod Classic 7G, IP4 and 3GS have better SQ than the 4G Touch.

I was able to compare my 4G to my sister's 2G, and I do think mine sounds better.....but I've had no opportunity to compare it to the nano, Classic, or the 2 iPhones.

I'll also say that my older 30GB HDD iPod has *great* sound. But, the battery is useless so it sits on a dock to provide music for garage workouts. I think that model had the Wolfson DAC.
