Knock off-Fi

So I found some Kullcand headphones being sold here:

Then, I realised that Head-Fi currently does not have a thread dedicated to knock offs. I figured it would be interesting to see what other kind of knock offs are out there. So tell me stories or show photos of your knock off encounters guys atsmile.gif

This is ATH-FW3 from M-Tech, a knock of of Audio Technica ATH-FW3 Button style headphone.

When I was wandering around at mall, I saw this one. I was thinking "No way! that "low grade" headphone producer can come out with this interesting design!"

But since I need new headphone and it's cheap anyway, I bough it.

 

Now, the package supposed to have a small pouch. But I don't see any. My suspicion started when seeing Japanese words on the back o the box, and ATH label... "This one probably Audio Technica Knock off..."

 

Google it, and yes indeed.

Where did you find that? I want one... it looks classy in an old-school way.

Found an april fools post talking about them. Did a search and realised they actually exist. atsmile.gif

I just wanted to interrupt my frantic google searching to say that I must find these and buy them.  I will take the most lovely pictures of them and post them here.

Those AKG's actually look sick. I would totally buy them even if they are knock offs. The shells could be used for a good driver transplant with those classy looks.

They can be found on taobao, which is a Chinese version of ebay. They go for 250 RMB right now, which if I remember correctly, is less than 50 USD. I'd most definitely take their drivers out since it seems like the drivers are random and isn't the same between different fake K801s. There is also some posts about them on erji, which is basically head fi, in Chinese.

These fakes are apparently horribly made. I wouldn't recommend anyone wasting their money on these. I supposed having it is kind of cool but I'd much rather spend that money on a LOD or something

Yeah, I had found them by around midday, as well as some discussion, with the help of Google's translator.
