sorry for the double post but can i use bi polar capacitors in other places besides the coupling position? basically are polar and bi polar capacitors interchangeable?

Just email Jeff at Glass Jar AUdio for a kit. Saves you a lot of pain.

i thought about it, but i think its more fun to pick the parts out myself. plus this way i learn alot more. from what i understand a bipolar electrolytic is just two polar ones in series.

I can also recommend the small sunring copper foil and pps film caps. these are not well known outside of japan and arent easily available; they are also not available in very large values (up to 0.1uf i think), but they are an easy upgrade over wima and vishay small box polypropylene, that fit in the same space (5mm lead pitch) and cost only very slightly more, definitely great bang for buck and for sure the cheapest copper foil cap known to man. definitely do not put more money into coupling caps than the pot, the TKD are quite good.

I tell you what is looking really good also for power supply caps if you have the space is the new Cornell Dubilier large polypropylene film caps, follow a large LowZ electrolytic with a 100-220uf polypropylene film cap (in parallel of course), superb power supply right there or even output caps. not cheap, but a serious upgrade that is about as perfect as large capacity caps get, you arent going to get teflon caps that big. these have impedance of 0.5mOhms, thats insane for a power supply.

the above power supply cap is a bit of a crazy suggestion, but i tell you what, if you have the space and before you even think about spending the stupid amount people are asking for 100 or 220uf blackgates these days, get them. blackgate has no hope of keeping up with that, anyone who says they do needs their head read.
