Class A tube

Are there any [near portable] class A tube headphone amps out there?

Class A yes. Near portable... Doubt it.

None. I have a TTVJ portable Hybrid amp, nice sounding, not made any longer, the tiny tubes are just used as a driver. The thing about tubes is they require transformers which are big and heavy, and lots of volts. And they get hot.

Do you have any idea how much heat true class A generates? Even if there was a way to minaturize it, it'd be far too hot to carry. And plenty hot enough to kill its caps and resistors.

You'd probably need something like a car battery to power it, as well.
