Opinions on the HRT Music Streamer II, NuForce uDac 2, and Fubar 2 MKII?

My current soundcard is an HT Omega Striker, but I have been told that a dedicated DAC would be better (even though the sound card is decent).

 

All of these are in my price range, but I'm not sure if any are supposedly 'better.' I'm open to more suggestions than just these 3. I want something that pairs well with my Schiit Asgard and Sennheiser HD580/598/600 (undecided on the phones, haven't bought yet).

I am currently using a Little Dot MK3 with upgraded tubes and without the dac, it sounded fine and decent. Just last week, I just got my HRT Streamer 2 and noticed a significant change in terms of separation and purity of sound. Since it is powered by usb, I was using a standard usb which I thought was decent. I then decided to upgrade to a better usb and noticed another great change. That could sometimes be the problem. We think it's decent and we ask ourselves, WHAT IF.  I am glad to note that I have finally reached thepoint and say that this is the ultimate sound that I can get from this setup which is GREAT. An external dac does make a huge and wonderful improvement.

Thanks for the reply. The HRT Streamer II seems to get a lot of good reviews, more curious on the other two. Just curious though, what to you mean you upgraded to a better USB?

Like I had mentioned on initial post, I was using the regular printer usb and was happy with the sound. Then the "what if" cam in again and I purchased a furutech entry level audio usb and the sound became fuller and commanding. I'm happy.

Are you able to  reproduce these findings and quantify this statement using ABX testing procedures?

Hi Blacknile,

I guess I am a rare headfier wherein I don't do ABX testing procedures.  My views are subjective and just sharing it with most.  Some may like it and some may not be as excited as I am.  I use my ears and convey what I experienced.  There is a change according to my experienced hearing. Again, my experience is personal. At the end of the day, I can only say that I enjoyed it.
