Seriously guys, I think he deserves an apology. You could have fact-checked whether it was gear sent for review purposes, and in any case, Keanex's review gives mid-fi'ers some insight as to whether a big jump in one component of their gear chain is worthwhile. It's still useful info.
Keanex: just to clarify, there was no need for you to apologise about connecting the Phonitor via your MacBook's headphone port--I was merely asking to clarify, because like you I don't have a standalone DAC and if I ever got something like the Phonitor, that would be how I connect it too.
