Song sounds fine, vocals really low.

Weird problem.. I listen to a specific song on my computer through my headphones and everything sounds fine. I put it on my ipod and listen to it through a speaker stand thing and I can hear everything fine but the clean vocalist which is pretty much inaudible. Can I fix this through a program or something without decreasing quality and such? It only happens to this one song too.

 

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, had no clue where else to put it.

Heya, could you play a few songs through your headphones and then check them through your speakers just to be sure? I've had similar problems before (one time I couldn't hear the lead vocalist, just the back up vocalists) and it turned out I didn't push the headphone plug all the way in.

Couldn't be, I've been listening to songs through my headphones and also playing them through speakers all day. I actually got music playing on the speakers right now. One thing, they're not computer speakers.. I have an ipod base that I plug my ipod onto that plays the music through the speakers.

 

Every other song sounds fine, I'm thinking it's just the song itself. The vocals could have been recorded low.

-shrug- Yeah I guess it's just the song itself. 

 

To answer your original question: no, you can't raise the vocals without degrading the quality of the sound, since you're connecting the iPod to the speakers via a base/dock. The only thing you'd be able to fiddle with is the iPod's EQ, which will lead to distortion.

If you're not tied to apple, you could get a Cowon DAP.  They have a really good quality EQ that doesn't add any audible distortion.
