I was skeptical at first, but after reading the article, the effects were quite noticeable. Although these were nothing but pixels on my screen - letters, character codes, bytes, bits - their initial subtlety resolved into a well rounded physical revulsion. Yes, surprised as I was on the effect of writing on my digestive system, Stereophile staff succeeded at inducing a sort of nausea usually reserved for viewing Goatse on the finest high-def displays. Their secret ingredient was not immediately apparent while looking at the individual components (they used the same ordinary English words and punctuation as reputable publications), but, like Scientology, sometimes it takes a comprehensive reading to get to marvel at the full spectrum of batsh*t insanity the author is trying to convey.
I am now a believer. Tomorrow I intend to throw out the bottle of ipecac in my medicine cabinet and replace it with a copy of Stereophile.
