Creative Titanium HD + Mackie MR5 = noise

Hi, I have a pair of Mackie MR5 monitor speakers connected to my creative titanium HD sound card in my desktop using Hosa 3.5 mm TRS to dual XLR3m cables. I hear static noise and I was wondering if this suppose to be normal or if there is a way to fix this?

The cable may be picking up interference from other equipment and cables nearby.  Also, why aren't you using the RCA inputs?  The Titanium HD does not pump out a balanced signal, so 3.5mm TRS to dual female RCA plus a pair of RCA cables as long as you need are the way to go.  Also, shielded cables will help.
