Power cable for Fiio e9

Thread Starter

Dear Head-fi members,

I forgot the power cord to my Fiio e9 in a hotel a short while ago and i'm now looking for some kind of replacement. The problem is that i can't find information about what kind of power cord i need! The only clue i can find on the amp is that it needs to be DC 15V.

All help would be appreciated!!!

kind regards

Mattias

Do you need a power cable or an external transformer?

If it's just a cable, then it should have a three-pronged IEC jack.

If the jack is just a hole with a pin in it, then you need an external transformer.

Since yours says "15V," then you probably need an external transformer.

You can order them from a variety of places online, you do not need one from the manufacturer. Also, Radio Shack makes a universal transformer that comes with a variety of tips. That would work, too.

This is important: Be sure that the transformer you buy is DC (direct current) NOT AC (alternating current). An AC transformer will hurt your amp. Be sure to buy DC.

Here is a picture of the E9's power adapter in case its helpful. I will probably pick up a 2nd power cable myself, I like to bring the E9 and DT880's out to the living room when watching movies at night.
