Computer audio / headphones

Hi guys im new in here so i might have made a thread at wrong cathegory.

I got a problem hope someone can help me sort them out, thing is my first question is a strange one. I bought the soundblaster x-fi titanium hd, when i first installed this i had a asus p55 formula Mobo.

And i was using siberia v2 headphones, the thing is sitting there listening to this new card was a remarkable lift in sound compared to my old soundcard.

First thing i noticed was playing dragon age 2 all i can say is god **** it sounded good it was like the game had a huge soundstage and very dynamic even the subtle sound wasnt a problem.

Then couple of weeks later i got my self a new rig a p67 asus board but none ROG series, music still sounded good and all but the dynamics and soundstage was lost when playing same game.

it seems like a veil has been put to the sound and its all so dimm. All i can say is that on my old ROG series mobo the soundcard was far away from any other component. In my new one the titanium hd is right behind the graphic card. But i doubt that this is the major culprit. Any awnsers would be appriciated.

I got my new sennheiser hd 598 had them for a week now, they really are something compared to my other headphones ive had. Ive been seeing them on forums where people say they got a huge soundstage, they do got a big one. But playing BFBC2 on them is nice, i can even hear a mouse fart. But when comes to pinpointing stuff i feel that even the siberia v2 did a better job there. Either its me or somethings isnt right :( thx in advance sry for the big article.

I cant see how changing your motherboard would have anything to do with sound quality from the same sound card.  Try uninstalling/reinstalling drivers.  Other than that it may be your mind playing tricks on you.

i felt stupid for posting this but obvious diff mobos do have a different phase setup. some of the cheaper ones have 6-8 while other have up to 20 wich increases voltage for overclocking ect. So i had to ask :( anyway im gonna keep looking :P thx

To me it sound like there is some software changes with the new motherboard, i'm sure that is the problem. Did you disable the built in sound from the bios?
