Problem with new Fiio E9! (fixed, please delete)

Hi!

I recently purchased a DT990 pro and a FiiO E9 and I've been quite happy with them, though I've only owned them for a couple days. Now, I'm definitely not an audiophile and the little I know about audio I've learned in the past few weeks, but today I hit a problem that makes me think I may have a defective amp, but I'm hoping someone might show me how to fix it.

I was listening to Tighten Up by The Black Keys and the guitar parts between the verses sounded severely recessed, but everything else sounded fine. Initially I thought it might be due to a junky source but every recording of the song I listened to had the same issue. So I took the amp out of my motherboard (unfortunately I don't have an external DAC yet) and plugged my 990 straight into the speaker out and voila! the guitars sounded so much better, though the rest of it became muddier. Both the quarter inch and 3.5mm outputs on the amp do the same thing.

Should I start packing up the amp to return it? :(

Ugh, I'm really embarrassed this had to be my first post. Please disregard the above, the input to the amp got loose at some point and I just noticed it. Sounds fine now :)

Edit: Sorry for the double post. Is there no way to delete my own thread?
