which usb dac for sennheiser hd 598

hi

At home i listen to music with sennheiser hd 598 headphones connected to hifi marantz mcr 502 (includes 2 speakers) and i m very satisfied with that because i get a great quality sound

(mostly i listen to rock , blues, sometimes instrumental,i have all original albums or flac audiocd)

now i m every year six months on the sea where i work in tourism, so i cannot take my hifi with me,

so i wanted to ask which usb dac would be the best for my headphones sennheiser hd 598

so that i can connect the phones to the external usb dac and then connect the usb dac with my laptop and that i can with this combinance geta a great sound , the same as when i connect my headphones at home to my hifi marantz

my laptop is acer emachines- me527-901g16mi,but that doesn t mather since i know that when i listen to music on usb dac ,that the internal soundcard hasnt any influence on the music sound

where i live the fastest shop to me is one where i can buy nuforce usb dac

:icon,icon2,icon amp,icon hdp,udac2,

would one of them with maybe with my headphones and laptop,

it doesn t need to be from that shop,i can buy from the net from another firm

Something like the Fiio E7 would probably be perfect for you.

I am using the her music streamer 2 with my 598s anodyne it sounds great. Unless you get an amp though it will probably be less than ideal for you because the dac only has RCA outputs. (there is nowhere to plug in phones)

max but i forgot to write that i want to buy an usb dac which has an headphone amp. in it,

some of those dacs which i have mentioned from nuforce have an integrated headphone amp in it

this fiio e7 cost aproximately 100 dollars and my headphones cost 400 dollaers so i think

logically thinking that that dac wont be enough good for such highquality headphones.

i think that i need a little bit better dac for my headphones,

people always told me that its like when i buy a hifi microsystem for 100 dollars and connect

high quality 400dollars headphones to them that then i get an awfull sound , because if i have a hifi which costs 100 dollar, then i need for that hifi headphones which cost 50 dollars aproximately and those 400 dollar headphones are for hifi which cost 600 dollars or more

i hope you have understand me because my english is weak

Good DAC's can be had for cheap. Don't waste your money.

I love my Ibasso D4.  Ibasso has them 199.00 and it is hard to beat.   Check the reviews it is a very good DAC and AMP.

Runs as USB and/or battery, and the amp is rollable so you can tailor the sound.

It also can be used several ways...

Use as

-DAC only (allows seperate amp or powered speakers)

-USB DAC/amp USB powered (5v)

-USB DAC/amp Battery powered (9v)

-Portable headphone amp (From Battery 9v)

Maybe someone can comment if they have used with your phones...

Musical Fidelity V-DAC.... all performance, no looks.  I quote:

"The secret is simple; there's no ridiculous packaging, and absolutely no wastage on anything. The V-DAC is rather like an F1 racing car. It is completely funcitonal with no excess flab or wastage anywhere."

Literally, this DAC is in no way in any impressive packaging, or does it even look fancy.

The sound from it, however, is stellar.

Does V-DAC have an AMP?  I think OP wanted a DAC/amp per his second post.

I have been looking at a V-Dac to pair with my Arrow (once it comes) and handing down the D4 to my son.

13eyond when you say that this Musical Fidelity V-DAC make

makes all perfomance , isnt than good enough that you connect your phones to the musical fidelity vdac and the dac to your pc and

you can listen to music? why do you use with that dac an amp matrix m-stage

so does this mean that this vdac isnt good enough without an special amp

he told you that he wants to buy a dac which has all in it (amp for headphones) so that he don t need to buy anything else like you bought this matrix m stage amp

yes pixote has right

i just want to buy an great dac which has everything in it whats neccesary to get a great sound(headphone amp. and other if needed)

i see that most of the people here on this forum have in there subscription-pc and dac and headphone amplifiers and headphones

i want just if its possible an dac (with an integrated amp) on which i will connect my sennheiser hd 598, and connect the dac to the pc and that i can get with all that a great sound like  i get when i connect the headphones to my home hifi marantz mcr 502

is this combination possible ? if yes than tell me which dac would be the best for me

if this combination isnt possible , if it isnt enough to get a great sound just to buy a dac, if i need something else to buy , than write me so

Petro... You should ask for a portable USB DAC/AMP it is a DAC and AMP combined.  Both the E7 and D4 recommended in this thread are portable USB DAC/AMPs.  They both plug into your USB port (no seperate power supply needed) and provide DAC and Headphone amplification in one unit.

Here are recommendations you have been given.  E7 (Budget) D4 (IMO nice step up from E7 but a bit bulkier).  Go look at reviews on these and other portable USB DAC/AM

Sorry, didn't read that you wanted an all-in-one.  V-DAC is not an option as it needs external amplification such as the M-Stage.
