hmm

i cant decide between ld mk2 vs mk3

does the mk3 have big advantages over the mk2?

i use my dt990 mostly for gaming

Heya,

 

I have the DT990 600ohm and the LDMK3. I can't even max the volume because it would be too loud. The amp is more powerful than the DT990's need. For the price for the power, the LDM3 is the better deal. I would go for the III.


My only reservation is that since this is for gaming, maybe look at a solid state amp? Don't get me wrong, tubes are great, but during gaming, I don't think the game samples (which are not high definition recordings) are going to be better at all on high end equipment. Most games have very standard quality audio, not lossless level for example. Something to consider. You may not need an amp at all, if you're getting sufficient volume from your soundcard's output (perhaps you have a Xonar? Titanium HD? etc?).
