hi

stroy as it goes. came here after lookin on overclockers forum, for pc surround sound gaming headset. to upgrade from my pc161 that have a small fault with the inline vol control.( if turn right up left side fails)  So was time i beleave for some thing better. Ended up with 3 month old sen pc360 for 80 odd quid. what are great for the gaming, ok might not be the best interms of sound. but with vol on cup! nice idea. clear voise over coms/skype and cumfy.

Still wasn't happy though. this was due to the ss position with in bc2 . with alot going on in battle couldn't tell if shots were from say left front or rear. was ok in quiet places. that might be just my ears though. getting on abit for a gamer lol. well not to bad at 40, after going a lan were there was a 72 yr old playing ut2003 came mid table. right back on track. in  the past i had a set of speedlink 5.1 madusa v1. in old games like Q3/ rtcw, pros positioning great/cons sq ok/cumfort ok but to heavy! felt like a nodding dog after a hr or so.

back to the forums for more reading up. Hmm replace sound card from x-fi elite pro to asus st/stx or astro mix amp for DH. as it is a set of a30's with wireless 5.8 amp came up on ebay. got for £100, not to bad. headset on ear and light, portable use taking detachable mic out, don't look out the way tbh. SQ not a patch on the sen pc360. Amp in game sq and positioning was a little behind the elite pro, also tryed with films on tv, what can i say ! late night films so not to piss next door off, as a surround sound not to bad, gave the feeling of multi channel.but the lippsink was worse than my old  sony str-db930 what is known for been out.like wtaching some bad dubbed **** ffs, disappointed really. might be ok for consoles but for pc/sort of wireless films nar. i.ll have to sell it.

Next step after looking on here. some thing better for the music than the pc360. thought  hd600 or dt880/600 but after many hrs looking though posts, seemed the grado's would suit me better.as i'm in  to the likes of maidan/def leppard/ john bonamassa, that kind of stuff.so lastnight ordered some sr225i what i think was a really gd deal at £132 shipped from brooklyn, ok going to take 2 weeks to get here but what the hell. ( big respect to thoughs who have modded with new cups/rewired. look the dogs bolloxs)would love to do but i don't want to mess them up.

Advice needed on a amp! is it worth the 50 quid extra on a LD 3 for better sq/looks than going for a LD1? also seen a 336 in the sales forum, might be going to far just for the look of that bloody big tube at the back and low impedance cans?

Heya,

Little Dot MKI+ ?

Otherwise, look at options like the FiiO E9?

yeah sory ment the Little Dot MKI+ so thats a better option than the MKIII evan when theres gain settings for low impedance cans? i did look at the e9 what is well respected so it seems. But every other kind of amp i,ve had (not headphone) has been SS.i'd like to give tube a go. its like going abroad and playing safe with chicken & chips. thats not me i like to try other stuff.

Thanks for the input
