Hey guys. First sorry for anything lame i say here, english is not my mother languange and sometimes i dont know the proper words to use, and im far from being a pro to this whole audio thing :p
I have this turtlebeach earforce dss that accepts eighter analog and optical cables. Thing is, when i use the optical cable, sometimes a "squeaky digital noise" kicks in, and it wont stop, it will stay there on the background, unless i close whatever program i was using and re-open it . So strangely it SEEMS to be software related, but im not sure... closing and re-opening the program does work..
So thats basically it, any idea why this happens ? Could it be a problem with the optical cable itself (that doesnt seems to be of good quality i might add), or could it be software related as restarting the audio softwares im running fix the problem temporarely ?
Also one more thing, this earforce DSS has dolby digital support, but i guess only using it with my onboard audio (P5Q-E motherboard) wont give me DD audio, right ? I play the game battlefield BC2 that supports DD audio, but when i switch the DSS to DD, it seems that the audio gets louder in one side of the headphones, doesnt feel right.
It seems that i need one of those fancy sound cards with DD audio conversor to really pull out the DD audio, is that it ?
Thanks a lot !
