I want to custom mount a weatherproof audio system onto my Hondsa ST1100 and be able to use my helmet mounted speakers and/ or headphones via a 3.5mm jack. My question is how do I go from the speaker level output on the head unit to headphone level? I have read lots in this forum about home systems, so I am wondering about the common ground situation. There are plenty of bikes with audio systems from the factory that use regular speakers (waterproof of course) and have headphone jacks. Is it as simple as soldering all the corresponding wires to the correct terminals and letting the resistance of the headphones take care of the difference between them and regular 4 ohm car speakers?
