Can't get EAC to access freedb

Hi everyone, I'm a n00b here and I recently purchased an iHP-120 and am eagerly awaiting its arrival in the mail. I hadn't been into mp3 encoding much before but my new purchase sparked it and I read and downloaded EAC and LAME and tried setting it up with the Chris Myden tutorial. I got everything to work, but when I put my CD in, EAC never recognizes my cd from freedb. The tracks always come up as "Track01, Track02, etc." When I go to database--->Get CD Information from--->Remote freedb, a prompt comes up telling me that all the data on my cd will be deleted and do I wish to continue. However, on my other extractor, Easy CD-DA, the freedb information comes up almost immediately. I'm tried this with several CDs in EAC and it has never gotten the data for any of them. Any help would be appreciated.

My firewall is Zonealarm, just in case that might make a difference.

First thing I'd try is change which Freedb server you're pointing to. Mine stopped working at one point and I had to change it in EAC to start again. They are having problems over there (read board).

Go to http://www.freedb.org/modules.php?na...rticle&artid=9 and put one of the specific servers (instead of the main random one).

It will tell you all info will be erased for whatever info is currently listed for a CD (even if it's track01...). Don't worry about that.

I don't think ZoneAlarm should be causing any issues, or at least it should have warned you to request an okay. Check ZA for any listing for EAC though to be safe.

My PC is in pieces on the floor right now so I can't test the servers, but my money is on that.
