Shure SE535 CL Fake on Amazon?

Hello guys,

I am here, because I have ordered my first high end pair of earbuds a couple days ago. I ordered the Shure SE535 on amazon.de (im german) and they arrived to day.

Having read some reviews on the internet, I expected the Shures to come in a nice metal box. Sadly, my package was totally different. There was no metalbox included, but the buds were put into plastic molds. Everything else was included (sleeves etc.)

Now I also cant manage to get the sleeves off to replace them with others. The Shures sound pretty good to me, but I have no idea about audio, my best buds before were classic Apple ones!

So I am kind of scared I bought a fake (for 410 euros).

Can you help me tell the difference? Are there any clues?

And how do I get my sleeves off (I dont want to put them in a freezer).

Regards

Felix

in the video you can see the metal box that i was talking about.

my package is made of plastic and you can see the earbuds before having unpacked anything.

what do you guys make of this?

Call the German distributor. Ask and report. Return if you don't get the right answers. Companies sometimes change or offer more than one package. You're not going to get much here other than opinions. Go to where the answers are.

SE535 doesn't have any metal case if you get the paper box packaging with the transparent window (and most of them are this type of packaging).

I believe a fake of the Shure SE535 does exist and you should be able to tell with the sound quality, however, do some searches in google and look for pictures of the fake ones and how to discern them from the real ones.

I have listened to a fake Shure SE425 and a real one, and the difference is average to good sound quality, where nothing really stands out (might sound good to a newcomer), versus very dynamic sound quality with great imaging and soundstage.

Does yours look like this? If so they are definitely legit.

My box was red color, and it is SE535-CL. From your pics, i can see 535CL's supposed to be in black color boxing? And i see on the earphone and box, there is written "made in china"?

Any input?

Thanks.
