So my old soundcard finally broke (thank god) and I was in the market for either a new desktop amp or a soundcard. I have roughly 150-200 to spend. I was thinking that if I got an amp it would have to be one with an integrated dac but it really doesnt matter since either way it'll be going to my computer through the onboard. audio so I can use my headphones and not just be restricted to my receiver. Also if I got just a standalone amp could I use my receiver as a DAC or does not having a dac for this ideal setup really matter? Im very confused on how that would work out. Any and all info is appreciated.
