Pimeta grounding question

Hi everyone!

A while ago I built Pimeta powered by Tread+Wallwart.

That wallwart has got only a transformer and nothing else.

So, the whole chain looks like this:

240VAC into transformer

24VAC from transformer to the Pimeta case into 2.1mm non-isolated barrel jack

Inside the case:

from barrel jack to TREAD

then 24VDC from TREAD to Pimeta

Now I want to do some upgrades which include the change-over of the case (I want a metal one).

Using metal case, can I still use that 2.1mm non-isolated barrel jack?

I know that I should isolate the output jack.

The input jacks as well as the pot will be non-isolated.

Cheers

You certainly don't want to mix AC input with DC output ground, use an isolated input jack.

Thank you FallenAngel for a quick reply!

Never understood why they call them DC power jack.

It seems they are widely used for AC power too....

Generally called DC jacks as they have a center pin and a shell/ground - AC could also have a ground, on top of the 2 wires.
