Are all 1/4" to 1/8" (6.35mm to 3.5mm) headphone adapters created equal?

I bought an adapter from Radioshack for about $6 usd, and that felt like total rip-off. The fact that the pin bent almost immediately is even more frustrating.

My question, are all adapters this crappy? Do they have varying sound quality? Why should I get (insert superior adapter) over (insert inferior adapter model)? Does it really make a difference?

Thanks all

I would say that any all-metal one from Radio Shack would be pretty durable.  It's the black plastic ones that have broken before on me.

Yeah.  The other ones are just more breakable...

Will the Shure HPAQA1 adapter fit on ath-m50s?
