Samsung Charge - Need Music Player App Recommendation but...

I just purchased my first smart phone, a Samsung Charge.  My problem is that the music player app included with the phone is inadequate for searching through my music collection.  Of course, better sound is always a huge plus.
 
However, I have the following limitations since I'm still uncertain as to whether I will keep or return the phone:
 
1.  I need a music player that doesn't require me to root the phone
2.  I'd prefer a music player that is free (I can get power amp after I decide which phone I will keep).

Just curious... what's keeping you from rooting the phone? It isn't as daunting as it may seem.

I may return the phone in 60 days, so I don't want to take any chances restoring the phone's original software.
