Hey, Im planning on making a pair of headphones for myself as a summer project. Im planing on making it straight from scratch! Ive got a lot of magnet wire, a mono headphone plug (will get stereo one soon tho), and four very strong N42 grade 3/4" diameter 1/4" thick Neodymium magnets. So anybody have any suggestions as far as making these headphones sound great? Im thinking of making something like the koss portapros, strong but not overpowering bass with good mids and highs. I even might make a dual driver headphone such as these: http://www.ohgizmo.com/2011/04/07/jvcs-new-ha-fxt90-earbuds-feature-dual-driver-units/ Im thinking of accomplishing that by wrapping two different voice coils on the same wire and then splitting the headphone cup in half by making a tweeter section and a bass(woofer) section. Ive already made regular earcup but the bass is really muddy and overpowering and its not at all loud which is really disturbing. if anyone has any design suggestions please let me know! really what i want to know is how i can change the design to either give better, crisper highs, or deeper clearer lows. Thanks for all the help in advance
