What are you looking for? Something a little less harsh than the 840 with more neutral bass?

Neutral bass and clarity. Apparently the shure srh940 has good treble as well. I really want to try them.

Yes but it will take awhile to gain funds. I have to balance $1400 a month and all that has to be divided between school, rent, and food. Utilities and Internet is included in the rent.

If you're looking for a detail oriented sound they're good. A little light on the bass but not bad, with a boost in the upper mids and treble, and they're a little cleaner sounding than the 840. You could look at the DT880 too for that kind of sound.

For a detailed but more natural sound the HD600 is supposed to be awesome. I think the AD900 or HD598 should be close to what you're looking for too, lots of people love those.

I think of those i will stick with the srh940s. I know where to get them for $260.

You know I've heard so much positive feedback about the Senn 598 I'm half tempted to give them a try. Some people on here have even gone as far as saying they're the poor mans version of the 650's

I just recently re-purchased the shure srh750dj and i just put an order on a used pair of audio technica ath m50s. i will add reviews for those 2 cans shortly after i receive the ath m50s and have had a good amount of time to jump to conclusions.

In all honesty though i am failing to hear a huge difference between the shure srh750s and the shure srh840. There is a difference but it isn't substantial.
