Hello fellow cheap-fi pioneer Katun! Long time no see!
Did you achieve headfi nirvana with the FX51 and take that long vacation from here?
Anyway I look forward to hearing what you think of my favourite IEMs

Hey, good to see you again! It's been awhile.Actually yeah, the FXC51 served me good for quite some time. That's until I got the W2. But then I then re-listened to my E30 and E10 and found I liked those just a smidgen more than the W2. With hope once again restored in budget-fi, I decided to try a long old favorite -- the FX67. Long story short, tried new EQ's with it, and now it's my favorite IEM. I keep comparing it to my previous champs, but it's dominating. The W2 didn't even do very well against it. But then I remembered your comments toward the 3850, and knew I had to try it along side the FX67. So I ordered it along with another FX67. I'm quite excited to get my hands on it and start testing a bunch of EQ's. I'll definitely let you know what I think sometime tomorrow.

Just got these. They are truly incredible.
I'll need some more time, and also need to compare them to my FX67.

Good to hear you got them and are liking them! Look forward to hearing more on what you think of them.

)post #23 of 6033/8/12 at 8:32amIs the SHE3580 really that good? I was surprised at how good the $8 JVC Riptidz is.

I think i may have received these today, they look the exact same except mine have a mic and the housings are white with black tips. Anyway these are seriously confusing me... They sound pretty damn good. Bass extends very low when called upon, when not called upon they sound bright and balanced. They have had no burn in at all, straight out of the box. Vocals are bright and sparkly without sibilance, midrange however is clear and well im hearing detail i havent heard through many many many headphones ive heard over the last few years.
As i said mine may be a totally different model but still fantastic... They have already retired my Xears TD4, Dunu Tridents and TFTA XB's. Without any burn in!

Does the packaging look like this?

Philips SHE3575. I've been curious about these too.

I'm finding from my own experience and others' comments that that there are many SHE3580 lookalikes by Philips but with different sound signatures. For example take these SHH3580
Again looks like the SHE3580 except for having a mic and slightly different colour scheme (black with red strain relief). I have these and I'm sure they sound different from the SHE3580. Here's what I said in another thread

Here's all anyone can wish for regarding comparison between the three models--frequency response graphs

SHE3580 (red) vs CKM50 (black)
SHE3580 (red) vs SHH3580 (black)
I generated these frequency response plots by my two-EQs in series process: one EQ to compensate for my hearing's equal loudness curve and another EQ to make all tones sound as loud while playing with Sinegen. The plots are the inverse of my final EQ settings--I EQ to try to make all phones have the sound signature and pretty much succeed.
So you can see the three phones all have a V-shaped FR to my ears, but CKM50>SHE3580>SHH3580 in V-shape. Also the SHH3580 has significantly less bass, especially subbass. But if I had to listen to music without EQ, I'd choose the SHH3580 out of the three phones. With EQ I think SHE3580>SHH3580>CKM50, because (1) the SHE3580 has more bass reserves than the SHH3580, (2) the CKM50 is less comfortable on my ears than the others.
So yeah the SHH3580 sounds even more balanced to my ears which can only be a good thing for those playing without EQ
I've had people say something similar about the SHE3575 which is what I think ak711 got... that they have less bass than the SHE3580. That person didn't like that though, he liked his bass
So horses for courses maybe? I might get a pair of SHE3575 just to post comparative impressions for people here, except I'm worried Philips may be phasing them out for newer phones like the SHH3580 and the SHE3680. Never seen those anywhere yet and no idea how they sound, btw. One person I've seen thinks they're bass-light but I don't know where he's coming from sound-signature wise.post #28 of 6033/9/12 at 2:26am- ak711

Yes I have the Philips SHE3575 (the middle one). They sound sublime! I was given them as a gift and I almost didnt even bother opening them but Im so glad I did! Although I do like bass and bucket loads of it these are by no means bass light. As I mentioned i have the TFTA 1XB's and these are regarded to as bass cannons; the Philips SHE3575 have more than enough bass. They extend as deep and still produce the mid bass to a very satisfying level. I listen to mainly hip-hop and dubstep. There is certainly enough bass, maybe not to extreme bass heads but for the majority there is ample bass.
post #29 of 6033/9/12 at 2:37amHmm, more to add to my list :p
post #30 of 6033/11/12 at 8:49amOn philips uk website, the she 3570 range is featured but no mention of the she 3580 range but the spec sheets look identical.
My she 3582 (blue version) are absolutely awesome and if you are in the UK, Asda are selling them for £5, completely worthwhile punt for what I condsider to be a bargain of the century. Keep the good work up Joe
