This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...

I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...

I didn't think of TEAC when I began searching for a dedicated CD player. My initial short list included Denon, Cambridge, Marantz, Onkyo. The Teac intrigued me, so I went for it. It is very...

Digizoid Zo vs. Fiio e11?
ZO v2 that will be released august/september or so will have volume control. Yea ZO provides just slightly stronger output 190 mA @ 32 ohm vs 150 mA.

I'm almost curious getting an FiiO E11 just to compare the two as E11 currently is sooooo popular but I'm pretty confident in ZO beating it. I just can't see a cheap typical amp beating ZO's new kind of implementation that really brings improvements on a lot of levels. I used to doubt how much the amps really were able to improve things as my experiences with E5 and Gary's PA2V2 were far from great (didn't even end up using them) but ZO changed the picture quite a lot for me.

RPGWizard, if your interested ( hopefully your in the US) I'd be willing to do a trade for a week, so you could try out my E11 and I can try the ZO. If you are interested send me a PM.
No I'm from Finland and sending something to US probably costs like something absurd like $40 or whatever from here and besides I like my ZO too much to send it out to some1 else. It won't leave my house! :)
Liking the ZO is cool but and it may be VG as just an amp but no V control or line out capability is a big negative (apparently to be fixed)
. Their processing is EQ and compansion with marketing terminology attached. It will depend on what you want from a device whether that's good or bad. If you like to euphonically alter your music, the ZO is hip but if all you want is pure amplification, the E11 would be the choice. Using the headphone out has 2 distinct drawbacks, one is another amp in line whose artifacts can not be removed after the fact and that by using the DAP Volume control, you may be dropping bits at lower volume levels which is even more likely with another high power amp in line.

I was thinking of getting one these for on the go either the Zo or the FiiO E11 but after reading this review here http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=64342t I think I would much prefer the FiiO E11. I think it would be much better combination if you already have bass heavy headphones as this guy seems to infer in this review - he has both and prefers the FiiO. The FiiO E5 is not really a good enough reason to have an opinion on FiiO products to be fair it was not very good and nothing more than a volume booster. I have the FiiO E10 and the E6 and they are really top notch products and at a nice price too - these have really given me more faith in their product line.

I agree with everything said above, but I also know that many younger Head-Fiers are flatout bassheads and will revel in the changes wrought by SmartVektor. As an amp, the ZO2 V1 is plenty loud - granted, that isnt all an amp should do for you, but at this price point it ticks the right boxes.
