I think myself as well as others were excited with this chance to win some great equipment. We still think we have a chance and check or in boxes constantly hoping to get that email. A simple announcement would be nice so we can go on scheming on how to pay for the next upgrade and what to tell of wives/girlfriend how much we actually pay for them.

Since my wife now knows they are nearly $1000, I can never buy them. Well maybe, but my story would have to be pretty amazing.

I wonder if Audeze and ALO sent the prizes to Gizmodo upfront, if not they could probably post the winners or acknowledge they have been chosen.

Amen. I couldnt sleep last night (not because of the giveaway lol) and woke up at 4AM. The first thing I did was check twitter/email on my ipod to see if I got the "glory" email haha.

This was a bad move by Audeze and Gizmodo, if there really were winners odds are extremely strong that the winners will sell the amp and LCD2 for a set of Beats pro, possible 2 one for themselves and one for a friend, my point being the winners likely have no clue what they are getting.

Definitely should have been a head fi only thing, I feel like the majority of their sales were from head fi users anyway.  

It makes me nauseous to imagine someone selling the LCD-02 for some Beats Pro

I wouldn't call it a bad move. I'm sure they were compensated in some way. The exposure alone to tons of people trying to win some free headphones was probably worth it. I'm sure alot of people got to check out the audeze and alo websites. Might even get a few people that dont know anything about headfi to purchase their product. I'm sure alot of users here would agree that it would have been nice to be headfi only and might even give us a chance here some other time.

I myself am still interested in purchasing them one day. It might be a few years from now and a used set that's dirt cheap but I will own a pair. With my daughter getting older and into too many things my window to be all about me is closing fast.

Kudos to Audeze and ALO for the offer.

and you'd better believe anyone who isn't an audiophile would take one look at the LCD2, sell it, and go to best buy and buy a Bose QC15 or Monster Beats set if they actually wanted headphones, lol

You have no idea how many tweets I read about people saying they needed to replace their ibuds, or that they wanted new headphones for their ipod. LCD-2s from an ipod....they're literally clueless! I agree this should've been exclusive to headfi, or any hifi forum.

So, in keeping my hopes alive, do we know for sure that the winners were notified yet? I have not seen anything on Twitter (or HF) to indicate that they have announced yet...is there still hope?

i think we still have a chance!! gizmodo would surely have tweeted that the winners were notified. id be really surprised if they didnt
