Oh, I was confused because they were choosing 2 winners, I thought it was one LCD2 and one Rx instead of 2 sets.

There are (or at least are supposed to be) two sets that include both the headphones and amplifier.

 

Taxes all depend on what documentation they send the IRS, too.  If they don't send anything, the IRS will never know unless they look into the whole sweepstakes.  I'm assuming Gizmodo will want to cover all the bases though...

 

Anyway, deliberate tax fraud is a bad idea.

i'm like 80% sure they would not tax you on these items, as the company could write off the expense and a promotional and or advertising.

I think they only said they'd pick 2 winners on 7/12 and contact them shortly after.  It didn't say they'd announce who it was.

 

If I win I'm giving my old LCD-2 away to my son, if I like the version 2 drivers better.

You're correct. They won't announce the winners publicly. I looked at the previous giveaways, and I couldn't find any announcements with the winners' names.
