Hi all,

I'm looking for a dac in order to feed my newly purchased Bx8a as well as newly aquired sr225i's

The Bx8a promote a Balanced input and well i do not have any cash for a decent headphone amp right now.

Then have found this on ebay!

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120713452743&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Looks like a decent dac with Balanced output and a headphone amp until i gather the cash to get a good one. which i can connect to this dac.

Seems like a perfect fit. it would fix all of my problems instantly, Dac/headAmp/Balanced speaker ouput.

Going to buy that next week but i tought i'd just say something here in order to be prevented in case its some horrible waste of cash of any kind!

Thanks a lot for your comments

William

Also look into the Little Dot DAC_II, perhaps there may be a comparison of the two around here.

It seems like the DacMagic would be a good option i i was willing to wait a tinsy bit...

Dac magic would allow me to fire up my speakers right now and i would need to get a amp later on for the headphones...

Cambridge is most likely superior to weird chinese company... called magic something...

Little dot dac II seems nice but it does not have balanced audio output for the M-Audio Bx8a. So its sort of out of the question.

It has balanced line-out just like the Matrix, no?

Little dot dac I does have balanced output but little dot dac II have the headphone amplifier.

When its time to buy, you always end up wanting to go all in for hardware. Lets go Dac1 and Woo6!!

But i think i'll go with the Matrix, everyone seems to agree that its a sweet spot at this price point.

I would of loved to go DacMagic + Little Dot MK IV 4 but i know i can wait a whole lot more if i go matrix and use its amp for a while.

Thanks for your input
