So has everyone seen the Hex on the webpage?
Yes and it looks to be waaaay overpriced compared to the original Octave (which was to be fair, quite a bargain).

I cant see a price on the Hex. It looks pretty interesting though.

How much is it?

I've heard slightly conflicting reports so far, in different currencies. One said 2400 euro for the base model, with options like USB as extra. Another website gave a price of 3000 UKP - presumably for the fully kitted out version.

Yeah the Hex is going to cost a bomb. It's balanced and yeah....

I'm going to buy an Octave in the next few months. Hold me to it.

Oh no! every new DAC must have a price 2K-4K and beyond.

Is our money shrinking or what?

Look forward to reading your impressions. I suggest using something better than the optical input with it if you can.

+1. A transport is a good idea.

I have some cd transports. I'm not going to get mine until mid September so you are going to have to wait.

Been listeninging to my new octave for a couple of days now. Very good first impressions so far!

I think it pairs very nicely with electrostats, very airy and ethereal but still have that analog-like feel to it.

Very happy with the dac overall and I believe that it's a keeper :)
