Alternatives to Sennheiser HD 25 II ?

Hi.

 

So I bought these headphones a couple of days ago. It's really comfortable and the isolation is great, but the "trebly" and harsh sound is really a letdown, and the sibilance is killing my ears.

 

Are there any portable headphones that have a more "warmer" sound without the sibliance and harsh sound? I don't want a neutral sounding headphone either, so Denon is not for me. I want headphone with a punchy bass, not a "booming" and too much bass.

 

Any recommendation?

try the akg k181dj (note: 181 not 81). i had both at the same time and while i enjoyed the senns, the akgs stuck around long after the senns got sold off. i would put them on an approximate sonic par - but somewhat differently flavored. compared to the 81s, the 181s sound better and are much sturdier, and the replaceable cable gives you convenient flexibility. they also fold up which is great on the portability front.
