A question for user 'mvw2' - or anyone else that could help!

I've been trying to send PM's but for some reason get a warning that i've used my daily allotment??? Anyway, it's nothing that can't be shared with the wider user group....

I was just reading through posts and noticed a comment you made some time ago about the Sleek Audio SA6,

"I have heard nothing that gives the same kind of presentation the SA6 offers.  I will tell you one thing, there isn't much else out there that gives that same open, airy presentation.  That will be lost when stepping to just about everything else out there."

I've been considering moving to something new for some months now, partly due to the number of cables i've been through with the SA6 and also partly due to curiosity - SA6 being the only IEM i've ever owned.

The IEM's i've been considering have been the Vsonic GR07, RE262, CK10, EQ-5, IE8 (maybe too bassy).

I've read through several of your reviews and postings and you seem to have a very balanced view on most things.

Do you still stand to the above statement and out of the IEM's i've listed is there anything that would compare or hopefully improve on the SA6 all round? (I use Bass+ and Treble ++ - recently I have also been equing my source to a slight V shape to ever so slightly reduce some of the mid range emphasis on the SA6).

N.B. I've exhausted reading all the amazing reviews and impressions given on Head Fi. Unfortunately theres not much reading material that compares experiences of newer IEM's with the SA6. Another thing i've considered is getting the SA6 remoulded by Unique Melody although i'm not sure whether this could be detrimental to the sound signature?

Many thanks,

Rish.

Hmm, from what I've read it seems like the sa6 is one of those headphone that have some really dedicated fans, I guess the sound signature just suits them really well. Technically, sa6's are more of a mid-tier headphone, and there are many more expensive ones that have better sound. Since these are still your first pair of headphones, I would reccomend exploring some other sound signatures before you get them remolded. Remolding service through unique melody is pretty pricey and you can get some other very nice headphones with that money. Especially since you are EQing the sa6's, the sound signature may not suit you perfectly.
