Are there any bypasses to feed the digital signal to a DAC through a DIY mod?

You could go the official route like Wadia, Pioneer, Sony and others have, wherein you use the USB signal to your own DAC. The other (unproven) method would be to solder wires to the I2S pins of the CODEC and use it for your own DAC.
