Asian music (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) - Page 69

I made a trip to Chicago to go see Kalafina perform live with almost the full band and was not disappointed.  Still really happy from the concert and from getting a few albums signed.

The Sakura-Con anime convention event in Washington always has concerts featuring artists from outside of America. This year they had Eir Aoi and Luna Haruna (Fate/Zero and Sword Art Online songs), last year they had Stereopony and Moi dix Mois, two years ago they had exist†trace and Berryz Kobo, three years ago they had Dazzle Vision and HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR.

Most, if not all, of these featured artists have never come to America before.

You were so close to Chicago as well!  I found out about them being a guest at the Anime Central convention.  However, what sealed the deal for getting me to make the trip was that they would be performing in a nice venue with most of their band.  I only planned out the trip about three weeks ago and made a whirlwind vacation around the Kalafina concert.

Does anyone know if there's a different version of this song? It sounds....so familiar but I can't place my finger on it. *I don't think it's the Mandarin version of the song either*

Ha, I figured it out. I don't think there's a video of it on YouTube, but the Okayama Sanyo High School performed it at a local high school way back ago.

Don't think I saw anyone post this up yet.  If anyone remembers Lexy, CL seems like she is even more Lexy than Lexy in this video!  I am pretty sure Teddy produced this as it has his style all over it.

who's lexy? I don't really like the direction these YG artists are moving to, fake gangster stuff.

This was release on the same day as the vid but miles better imo:

YG Entertainment actually started by bringing that fake gangsta style to Korea in the late 90s.  They didn't really get it right until around 2000.  So for me, the CL vid makes me kind of nostalgic for the old YG singers that my friends and I loved in highschool/college.  Back in those days Cypress Hill was actually on a YG album and they really wanted to take one of their main producers to work with them in the US (Perry).  Glad he stayed :)

Cool, no wonder I keep hearing cypress hill type beats in old k-movies and songs

Haven't heard Miwa before. Very catchy and cowritten by her. She's only 149cm tall :D

I know most of you won't know or like this but this is my favourite band :P
When i first listened to them i thought they were crap but the more i listen to them, the more i liked them and now they're my favourite... it's weird haha.

On the other hand... something more likable for the general listener
