For Sale:
Sennheiser HD650 Drivers in a Jubilee Body

Will Ship To: Continental -USA

Nearly brand new HD650 drivers in a Jubilee's body. The HD580 Jubilee was a limited edition headphone released in the early 1990s that preceded - and subsequently kicked off - the HD600. They are now incredibly rare. The sound of this unit is pure HD650, owing to the drivers. Sounds exactly like a new HD650 should, as these drivers have seen well under 50 hours. I'd recommend burning them in some more. Pads are in excellent condition; the right amount of firmness and quite clean.

The wear on the Jubilee body is purely cosmetic. All parts are structurally and functionally solid. The Jubilee's silver paint (from the Sennheiser logo) is just about all gone off the headband, and shows wear in the blue Model # "badges" on the sides. Please see the pics.

I have a stock HD650 cable I'll include for $10, however please note that this cable's plugs are too big to fit through the Jubilee's lower "bumper" pieces. However these pieces can be removed as they essentially don't serve a purpose beyond cosmetics, and hence you can enjoy the stock HD650 sound in this fashion. If you have an aftermarket cable, then if it fits into an HD580/600 - then it'll fit through these pieces (Sennheiser widened the hole for the HD650).

No box.

So, with all the above caveats, here's a chance to acquire the HD650 sound for a low price, and get a cool & rare piece of headphone history in the bargain.

Terms:

$240 shipped WITH the HD650 cable

$230 shipped WITHOUT the cable

No trades. Shipping will be via USPS Priority w/ delivery confirmation. Continental-USA only. I will very likely ignore any messages that don't read like they're from a serious potential buyer willing to meet the above terms. Check for feedback on audiogon under this same handle: mulveling

for those folks who aren't long time head-fiers, Mike goes way back and is a well respected and trustworthy head-fier. you don't even need to venture to audiogon for positive feedback as he has a plentiful thread archived here:

If you are willing to ship to Canada I would be very interested in these cans as the price looks excellent! I would be interested in purchasing with the stock cable.

Great concept....but why 650 grills???  The 580 grills were the pinnacle of Sennheiser's mark in the headphone industry...even if they are plastic!!!
