Trying to figure out the best method to get my DVD collection onto itunes, in order to then be played on my AppleTV.

As you mention Apple TV I assume you are a mac user?

Handbrake is excellent and creates files in pretty much any format.

Unfortunately Windows only but I haven't found anything to compare with Slysoft AnyDVD for ripping protected discs. It get a solid 10 out of 10 from me and justifies keeping an old windows laptop around.
