Anyone use IEMs primarily at home in a desktop setup?

I almost always use my ER-4P's at home, mainly because they block out my 13-year-old sister's crappy music, and because I don't own any good full size headphones.

I can see myself doing this if I ever get the ER4S.

Now that my studies have shifted from the library to at home, I listen exclusively from my desktop. The only 2 IEM's I currently use while listening (until my JH16's arrive sometime next week) are the Atrio M5 and Sony EX1000. With the EX1000, I can seldom hear the fan whirring in the background, though it's not at all distracting since my tri-flanges offer my ears a very, VERY reasonable seal. Sure, I never miss a phone ring, but I find that to my advantage, and mostly everything else is isolated once the track is playing. If and when I'm in need of near complete isolation, my Atrio's are quite competent under those circumstances. To be honest however, my daily listening now consists of 25% Atrio's, and 75% Sony's. I was always fond of the EX1000's signature from the very beginning, but at the time, they simply weren't practical for my intents and purposes. Now that I'm officially studying at home, all that's changed, and if anything, to my ears the EX1000's weakness has now become their strength, so much so that I intend to keep one universal (either the EX1000 or soon to arrive FX700, which I'll A/B once I'm able to), and the JH16's as my first and only customs; the former for when I don't need absolute isolation, and the latter for when I wish to hear nothing but the music.

Depending on the weather and my mood I tend to use my triplefi 10 more then my dt880

Yes, i use my um merlin or vsonic gr07 over my full size

Ex600 or FA-011 mainly with my Fiio E7/E9, unless I really want to go super details, bass and clarity. In that case it's the 1964-Q.

 When it comes to gaming, I will always prefer open ended headphones (AD700 & DT990) over IEMs due to the more engrossing and expansive sound stage. For music, I alternate between the DT990 and customs. It generally depends on what I'm listening to ("fun" vs analytical) and my mood. I've been using my customs more and more recently however, due the fact that my AC is located near the desktop.

All the time with my UM and HF5s. Sometimes kind of scary when someone comes through the door and you don't expect it haha

yep, i have built a diy home rig that is primarily based around my jh13 (balanced), hd600 and my speakers. the jh13 get most head time and they really do sound amazing from high quality source with low gain; which is something you'll have to keep in mind if you dont want hiss

I use mine primarily at the office which is halfway there I guess.

I don't use them at home much because they're a pain to take on and off and I usually sit still in front of my desk at work a lot longer than I do at home.

I never used to, but this summer has had couple of heat waves, when it was much better to use IEM-s than full sized cans.

My W4's are surprisingly good from desktop setup, I in some regards even prefer it to my full size cans.

Yup, I use IEMs at home with a semi-pricey desktop setup. I tried full-size headphones but found IEMs were more comfortable, light, and quick to put on and take off. My computer fan is noisy too, packed with years of dust. I can't hear the fan when listening to IEMs
