I have owned my LD MkIV SE (my 1st tube amp) for about 6 months now and apart from some initial problems (crackle & hiss - David replaced it and it is now audio bliss) I would like to get some spare tubes and I also fancy trying a bit of tube rolling.

Reading a bit about various tubes it seems the ‘Holy Grail’ is the 6H30P-DR ‘Supertube’.

My question is: If they’re so good why aren’t they being made now? With the seemingly growing number of converts to tubes and the premium price being asked for NOS the market is there waiting for them. Or am I missing something?
