hey guys, i'm still relatively new to the world of audio, however i do have some (IMHO) nice gears :)
my source is an entry level marantz cd player > Hifiman EF-5 > Hifiman HE5 (black dragon cabled)
my question is, would a dedicated mid-end DAC improve the sound by a wide margin? I have a cheap $50 GoVibe DAC to run my Toshiba laptop and i can tell that the cheap DAC improves the sound a lot but I dont know why but my EF-5 hardly makes any differences in the sound signature (subtle changes only)..
Im looking at the Audio-gd NFB-2/3 and the upcomiing schiit dac, do u guys have any suggestions for under $500 DACs?
