When it drove  LCD2.2 via speaker tap directly it showed some level of noise floor. But there is no noise through topping tp60 connected to DAC of NPH-750.

It drove HE-6 nicely which was hooked to speaker taps directly.

Through the same setup of LCD2.2 by using it as DAC, He-6 performs even better.

What a cheap solution for the high end headphones!

See there are lots of people here in head-fier who are spending thousand dollars for LCD2 and He-6 solution.

Off topic: Do these new planar headphones sound better than Stax? I think for a thousand bucks, I'd go stax and not look back. Anyways, I got my Teac today, It sounds great, very clear and airy. I'll write up something on it after a few weeks. I'm using it with Grado SR-325's. I have a point-to-point wired tube amp on the way so when that comes I'll bypass the Teac's amp section.

Can someone help me I got this amp set it up and it recognizes it with teacs site drivers but makes a loud buzz using USB not sure about others what's wrong with it

I just got the Yarland tube amp today and hooked it up to the Teac using it's analog outputs. I can definetly say there is an improvement. Everything seems more dynamic and airy. The DAC section on the Teac is definitely stronger than it's amp section. Soon I hope to do a shootout between it, the Schiit Bifrost and the new Peachtree Dac at a dealer. I'll end up keeping whichever sounds better. Aesthetically, something black would look nicer with my rig.

I totally agree. To really appreciate the DAC you need to hear it connected to a nice amp.

I couldn't agree more. For the money, it's actually quite a nice little DAC. I think I'm going to have to spend at least $500 to actually find a unit with better sound.

I have this DAC and a Schiit Asgard 2 as the amplifier. My question is whether this DAC upsamples everything to 192Khz, since that results in a loss of sound quality. Wouldn't that make this inferior to other DACs that don't upsample? This is the only real DAC I have so I'm just curious.

If it upsamples everything why does the DAC have all the lights showing the bit rate? Anyway discerning upsampling 'noise' is beyond my ears capability.

I'm not sure, which is why I asked. I think I've read on their website that it upsamples, but as you've said, it shows the incoming signal rate. It might just do that so you're aware of your source. But I'm still curious.

So what do people think about the Teac - AI-301DA that just got released? Any opinions on how it stacks up to UD-H01 or NP-H750(since it has been discussed as well in this thread)?

I got the UD-H01 few weeks ago and i'am loving  it is better than the Audioengine D1.What i noticed right away is the larger soundstage

Over D1.

I'm in the middle of a move and had my stereo gear packed up for a while. I just got the UD-H01 hooked back up to the Mjolnir and I've been enjoying the Led Zeppelin Remasters with my heavily modified & balanced Fostex T50RPs. The Zep has never sounded better. Life is good.

What did you modify on your Fostex cans?

It's been a couple of years since I modded the Fostex but I did pretty much all the standard mods. They have more bass than my HE-500s but I really like the way they sound.
