I'm looking for some nice computer speakers that are anywhere up to $500. Before anyone recommends the Audio Engine 5's, they don't fit on my desk. I'm looking for speakers that are a bit smaller than that. My desk space is rather lacking

Best Computer Speakers <$500?

Do you have room on either side of your desk for podiums? At some point I'm thinking I might upgrade past my Aego M's and get some better speakers, but to do that I'd likely need to rop them onto a stand to either side.

Since desk size is an issue, is the room large enough to use full size or bookshelf speakers that are mounted well away from your desk? If not, then I'm with DoTA, and think studio monitors (near field speakers) and speaker stands are probably the way to go.
