DIY Cables - One Online Retailer for Everything Needed

is there a one-stop shop (online retailer) to get everything needed to start building DIY cables (wire, jacks, connectors, good quality solder, etc.)?  i'd prefer an e-tailer in the US or Canada, but overseas is fine as long as they're reliable.  TIA

I'd say that it totaly depends on what kind of items you are after... I don't think anyone carries EVERYTHING, since there are just too many brands, materials, parts and so on.

If you have decided to use exactly THAT silver cable, THAT Neutrik XLR connectors, THAT sleeve and so on, then it's probably going to be hard find everything from one supplier.

If not, then you should have no problem find everything you'd need at one place.

no, i'm not that brand-specific.  i'm just looking for an e-tailer that stocks everything i would need to make DIY cables/interconnects (wire, jacks, sleeving, connectors, solder, etc.)

Then perhaps you could try http://www.mouser.com or http://www.takefiveaudio.com/  or any other you can find links to in other threads here.

Mind you, I haven't bought anything from  Take Five Audio myself, I just took a quick look in my bookmarks for a couple of examples.

If you happen to read Swedish too, I can also recommend http://www.svalander.se for some high-end stuff atsmile.gif

These people have absolutely everything. Do not mind their on-line catalogue as this is incomplete.

Also a warning, I don't know how many of their employees speak English. I know one guy who knows what "rosin flux" is. That's it.

Percy Audio has a lot of stuff, but it's a pain in the ass to order from there. He's so swamped I've often had to email him 3 times to get any response...one time emails were getting no response so I left him a phone message, then finally faxed him, and that finally got his attention...then, he has no online ordering system so that's an additional hassle. You have to email your credit card #, etc. Not trying to trash the place, it's got good stuff at good prices, I just wouldn't go there unless I really couldn't find something anywhere else because it's difficult.

Take Five Audio and Parts Connexion are my favorites..

I like these guys: http://www.redco.com/default.asp

They are cable/connector oriented than most electronics supply places and lots of stuff. Good service and prices.
