I'm using my mate's computer (and I will for the next 2 months), and there's something really messed up with the audio ports.
No matter which audio port I plug the headphones in (usb headset gives off normal sound though) I get distorted sound. If I plug it in the front port it's barely recognizable. Even If I plug it into the green port in the back, it sounds low quality and lacking in bass.
Is there anyway to fix it or is this a motherboard problem that I can't repair?
Thanks!
EDIT: can I just get an adapter like this? http://www.dealextreme.com/p/5-1-channel-usb-sound-card-adapter-black-59039
how will the sound quality be compared to the computers sound card?
EDIT2: or how about this? http://www.dealextreme.com/p/cmi-6-channel-pci-sound-card-cmi-8738-chipset-4666
