I'm thinking about the dt 770 or 880, the d7000, the grado sr225i, 325i, and the le5. Also the dt 1350.

Thanks everybody.

Ive tried the dt770, they didn't seem bright at all. I even felt the mids were drowned by the bass a bit.

I know its not saying very much but here's the FR charts for those listed;

Unless I listen to mostly electric guitar, I personally think the Grados I have owned (SR60,80,ms1,ms1i,225,325) and several I've tried are poor values at their relative price points. They have an always in-your-face sound which I'm not fond of after several minutes of listening, plus a scratchy treble. One Grado that I liked was the HF2, but its 'limited edition' status IMO was handled very poorly by Grado.

I think the HE5LE is a more rounded headphone but it's also a lot more expensive, plus at that price point I would go straight for HE500. Maybe you'd want to consider the HE4? I read it was kinda bright.
