Empire 698 turntable
Just installed a NOS Shure V15 Type IV 45 HE cartridge (well-balanced with a clear midrange) a Pro-Ject Tube Box II Phono Preamp and a NOS Orsonic DS200G LP Disc Stabilizer for my Empire 698 turntable.
Sounds really good.
The Empire was a gift from my brother.
He gave it to me awhile ago, but it never sounded right.
Dropped the deck off at 20th Century Stereo in Chicago and had the deck adjusted, new belt, lubed and the speed corrected.
Finally works like new!
It is a beautiful machine.
They just don’t make them like that anymore.
