LCD-2 amp question

I am using a Ray Samuels HR-2 to run my LCD-2's and my Denon D7000. I find I am loosing a bunch of low frequencies with my

LCD-2's so I am using my Denons now as they offer a better sound with my HR-2. The LCD-2's are smooth but they seem to not have the same sound pressure as my Denons which go louder and have tons more bass. Is this an amp issue or a headphone issue? I should mention I am using the ALO after market cable on my LCD-2's which sounds better than the stock cable. The sound reminds me of my magnaplanar speakers I used to own in my main system but the LCD-2's sound underpowered. Could this be the case?

Is there no one who can help me with this?

The HR-2 is by no means a budget amp so it should be able to provide enough juicy you'd think. That beeing said the LCD-2 is known to be quite power hungry so who knows.

You could try getting a Burson HA-160 and see if that works better, there are a fair number around so you can get them at a decent price and sell it again if you don't like it. I've heard people say that the Burson HA-160 does well with the LCD-2.
