Yeah hi. I recently purchased the PRO 550 an like 'em a lot. I am burning them in currently using JLabAudio.com's burn-in program.
Anyway, everyone knows the two cables that come with Ultrasone's headphones: The little straight one and the longer coiled with the 1/4 port. I currently don't have a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter and the little one is way too short for me. The coiled really isn't too bad but I was looking for something that was at-least 15 FT.
I was looking at the Grado 15FT cord and the Mogami 25 FT from Amazon. The Mogami comes with a lifetime warranty which is nice. Also, Ultrasone have their own 13 FT cable
. But I don't know if these are right for it and I've seen more expansive kinds on this site. I was just wondering...what kind of extension should I use that would provide me with NO degradation that is at least 15 FT? No price limit.
And if it's 1/4, what would be the best adapter for it? I was looking at the Grado
. Would it be alright?
I am currently using a Radioshack gold-plated 20 FT wire but I am unsure if I can hear any degradation from it. Regardless, it will eventually break down. I've owned a lot of these over the years. In-fact, I was using a brand new one on a pair of crappy PC stereo speakers and they broke. So I was wondering what your opinions would be for me.
The PRO 550 is 64 OHM and I am running them unampped through the Creative Titanium HD.
Thanks.
