Hey guys just wondering what you would recommend if you were going to put $700 towards a new sound card/ headphone combination.

I have no knowledge in this area, so please be gentle with me.

I currently possess an Asus xonar DX, which i was thinking of upgrading to an essence ST (I heard it's both cheaper and better than the STX). I also have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-AD-700.

I use my setup for alot of gaming, and music. I also play guitar and its often fantastic to listen to myself with the headphones.
